Our Company

The U.S. construction permitting process is a black box. Over 500,000 forms and 20,000 processes, yet 95% of cities use the same building code. Every permitting delay costs businesses revenue, stalls expansion, and disrupts construction schedules.

Founded in 2022 by builders, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, GreenLite eliminates permitting uncertainty for developers nationwide.
We combine AI-powered technology with an in-house team of registered architects, engineers, and city planners to deliver the fastest, most predictable path to permit approval. Our expert-led compliance process ensures plans are code-ready before submission, reducing revisions, delays, and costs.

GreenLite has raised $86M in venture funding from leading investors including Insight Partners, Energize Capital, Craft Ventures, LiveOak Ventures, Trust Ventures, and Chicago Ventures. National brands, including Walgreens, TD Bank, and Driven Brands, trust us to accelerate approvals, reduce risk, and unlock growth.

The Role

Join GreenLite at a pivotal moment in our growth! As our Finance Operations Associate, you’ll play a foundational role in building a modern, AI-native finance function that supports a high-growth startup transforming a multi-hundred-billion-dollar industry.

This role is broader than traditional accounting. You’ll support core finance and accounting operations across billing, collections, accounts payable, month-end close, reporting, and financial data integrity — while also helping design the systems, processes, and AI-assisted workflows that allow the finance team to scale.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career accounting or finance professional who wants to build strong technical fundamentals while also gaining exposure to startup finance, financial reporting, business operations, automation, and systems design.

If you’re excited about improving how finance work gets done — not just completing tasks, but making the underlying processes faster, cleaner, and more scalable — this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing

AI-native systems and process building

  • Actively participate in designing and implementing AI-assisted workflows across billing, collections, reconciliation, and reporting.

  • Help identify manual, repetitive accounting tasks and work with the team to automate or streamline them using AI tools and system integrations.

  • Partner with accounting, operations, sales, and customer-facing teams to understand business needs and translate them into durable finance workflows.

  • Bring curiosity and a builder’s mindset to process improvement — this is not a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo.

Accounts receivable and cash inflows

  • Review and issue customer invoices accurately and on time, in accordance with contract terms and customer requirements.

  • Own accounts receivable aging, follow up on outstanding balances, and support cash receipt application.

Accounts payable and cash outflows

  • Ensure vendor invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time, with attention to proper payment timing and cash conservation.

  • Help identify opportunities to streamline the AP process through automation and system integrations.

Month-end close and general ledger

  • Support the month-end close process by assisting with journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Help maintain data integrity across accounting systems and subledgers.

Financial reporting support

  • Support recurring financial and operational reporting, including tracking key business metrics, cash activity, AR aging, AP trends, and close-related outputs.

How you’ll be evaluated

  • Velocity and impact of AI-assisted workflow improvements — how quickly you identify automation opportunities and move them from idea to implementation.

  • Quality and reliability of AI-native processes built — are the systems you help design durable, well-documented, and trusted by the team?

  • Accuracy and timeliness of core accounting responsibilities — invoicing, collections, AP processing, and month-end close support.

  • Growth in technical capability — demonstrated learning and application of AI tools, system integrations, and automation techniques over time.

  • Cross-functional effectiveness — ability to collaborate with operations and sales to translate business needs into scalable accounting processes.

What we’re looking for

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Basic understanding of financial statements, GAAP and accrual accounting principles is required.

  • 0–2+ years of experience. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment is a plus but not required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong foundational spreadsheet skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and comfort working with structured data.

  • Clear willingness to learn invoicing systems, expense management tools (such as Ramp), and/or ERP tools, or some prior exposure.

  • Genuine interest in AI tools and a desire to apply them to finance & accounting workflows — prior hands-on experience with AI is a plus but not required.

  • Curiosity about how data flows between systems and how integrations can reduce manual work.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interacting with customers and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and eagerness to contribute to a growing company.

  • Builder’s mindset: you’re not just looking for a job — you want to help shape how a finance & accounting function operates.
